The results are surprising \u2026 at least to those who aren\u2019t on top of the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.cleanorigin.com\/about-lab-created-diamonds\/\">lab-grown trend<\/a>.<\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">The Results<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<ul><li><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">More than 1 in 3 respondents (36 percent women and 38 percent men) <a href=\"https:\/\/www.cleanorigin.com\/blog\/how-much-should-you-spend-on-an-engagement-ring\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">think the engagement ring should cost<\/a> less than $1,000.<\/span><\/li><li><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">26 percent of respondents think the ring should cost at least $1,000.<\/span><\/li><li><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">17.3 percent of respondents think it should cost at least $3,000.<\/span><\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Almost half of those surveyed (45 percent) said it didn\u2019t matter whether a diamond was lab-grown or mined. Younger people were more receptive to the idea with 59 percent of 18-24 year-olds saying they are fine with lab-grown, 49 percent of 25-34 year-olds, 45 percent of 35-44 year-olds and 37 percent of those 55-64.<\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Does size matter? According to this survey, it\u2019s not how big it is, but high-quality reigns supreme. 81.4 percent of those who responded said quality trumps size. More women (86 percent) than men (80 percent) share this opinion.<\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">On this blog, we recently wrote about whether diamond rings should be considered <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">an investment<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">. Women (61 percent) consider this to be the case more than men (43 percent). 72 percent of those surveyed would prefer to spend on a potential Honeymoon instead. As expected, a demographic of younger consumers (18-34) help boost this opinion.<\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">And lastly, 67 percent of those who responded said that an engagement ring should come as a surprise, albeit one not completely out of the blue. Millennials are more keen on this opinion with 76.5 percent of those saying that \u201cWill you marry me?\u201d should involve a little theatrics.
