Excellent

Excellent cut diamonds are the best at reflecting light and have the most brilliance and sparkle of any other diamond. This cut grade is as close as possible to a perfectly cut diamond.

Very Good

Very good cut diamonds are great at reflecting light since they have superior light-reflection capabilities. While a very good cut diamond is not the absolute best diamond cut quality, it is undoubtedly a well-cut diamond and can outshine all diamonds except excellent cut diamonds.

Fair

While fair diamonds do manage to reflect an adequate amount of light, their performance lags far behind most other cut grades.

Poor

A poorly cut diamond has the worst light performance and lacks sparkle. Poor cut diamonds resemble rough stones more than they do typical diamonds.
